THE FIRST SNOW!

by Rosie

Yesterday we got to free range. All of a sudden we noticed little white things started falling from the sky. They looked like little downy feathers. They were really cold on our wattles! All of us Littles got kind of nervous but Dottie told us what it was so then we didn't worry.

Dottie has seen two winters. She told us that the snow was deep and we couldn't free range as much but she used to know a hen named Tuesday who loved to go sledding.

When we woke up this morning there was a lot of snow. Now I want to go sledding!

  2. Well, we live next door to Ophelia(Mama hen) and and her girls(chickies)and one BIG rooster and they don't go out much in the snow..except when Braxton & Lulu, (our little doggies)bring them bread and apples - then they come slipin' and slidin' down their ramp and all try to get some treats! Then, in they go to gt warm..You stay warm as well and if you do go sledding, be sure to cover your head and waddle so you stay warm..what about ear-muffs? Hey, do you HAVE ears??

  3. Dear Utah Grammie:
Yes, I do have ears, but they are behind little tuffs of fluff. They look like elf ears. Maybe I can get Fern or Blossom to take a photo of them!

    love, Rosie
